Home to the majestic Blue-crowned Parrot, an endemic and endangered species that we continue to conserve in this area.

It houses species of great conservation importance, such as the Blue-crowned Parrot (Hapalopsittaca fuertesi), an endemic and critically endangered species; the Paramo Parrot (Leptosittaca branickii), a species considered vulnerable; and the Rufous-fronted Parakeet (Bolborhynchus ferrugineifrons), an endemic and endangered species.

Location

It is located on the western flank of the Colombian Cordillera Central, in the village of Pedregales Alto, in the municipality of Génova, in the department of Quindío, near the El Mirador Municipal Reserve.

How to get there?

To visit the ProAves Loro Coroniazul Reserve, you must first arrive at the market square of the municipality of Génova. From there, take a Jeep to the village of Altos del Pedregal and get off at the area known as Casa Roja. From this point, continue on foot for approximately 20 minutes to the Reserve’s house.
